︎ 365 Days: My Mood Over the Year
As a practice of knowledge translation︎︎︎, I used an app on my iPhone to track my mood and its correlates for an entire year. At the time, I didn’t know I would turn this into an art project. I just wanted to collect knowledge, and see what came out of it.
Upon the year's culmination, I found myself confronted with an imposing spreadsheet, brimming with numerical entanglements that failed to unveil the essence of my well-being. It was in this moment that the genesis of my illustration took shape.
Data visualization, and using artful means to communicate research more generally, is a powerful way of sharing knowledge. And knowledge is powerful. It has the potential to educate, empower, and inspire.
